The National Affairs Committee has broken the silence on the announcements made by Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler in last year's Budgetary Proposals with regard to U.W.I students.
The meeting which was chaired by the National Affairs Committee Chairperson R. Ziggy Marshall was attended by a modest but vocifeours gathering. The students in attendance shared their views and gave suggestions on how the policy can be improved. Mr.Marshall says these suggestions will be compiled and sent to the Offices of the Minister of Education and Minister of Finance in an effort to assist in the making of the final policy decision regarding the matter. Mr.Marshall said a response was expected within 30 days after which the normal procedures would be exhausted, however he warned that failure to recieve a response would result in protest action being taken. Also on the panel representing the Guild of Students were Danny Babb P.R.O, Kidwe Sandiford Part-time Representative, and Damien "Figgy" Belgrave Social Sciences Representative.
*More information on this meeting will follow in the first issue of the CAVE Online newspaper expected to be available by month end.
