Cave Hill hockey players will have "New Turf"to defend come May when The UWI Cave Hill Campus hosts the InterCampus Games.
The UWI Hockey Turf was officially opened on February 15th with a brief opening ceremony.Those gathered in the audience included members of the administration,Sport Academy Cave Hill and hockey players,coaches and supporters.The Guild Council was represented by the Games Committee Chairperson, Mr.Akil Dowridge.The gathering was welcomed by the Director of Sports Mr.Roland Butcher after which the Deputy Principal Professor V.Eudine Barriteau made her remarks.The turf was blessed by the Rev. Arlette Waterman and declared offically opened by Mr.Butcher.
The UWI /Powerade Scrimfest Hockey Championship which immediately followed the ceremony was declared open by Mr.Clifford Gooding Edghill the brand manager of BBC Brands.
The Vote of Thanks was then moved by president of the UWI Hockey Club Mr.Bradley Harris.
The Master of Ceremonies for the event was Sport Academy Cave Hill's own Aundrea Wharton.
